NEW YORK -- Mark Sanchez is still focused on coming back this season for the New York Jets. Nike Free 4.0 Flyknit Uomo . Coach Rex Ryan thinks it could happen. Sanchez, hurt in the teams third preseason game, is rehabilitating his injured right shoulder rather than immediately having season-ending surgery. The exact nature of the injury has not been revealed, although some published reports say it is a torn labrum. "If we didnt think itd be realistic that Mark would get on the field, then he would be put on IR," Ryan said Friday. "And thats not the case." Sanchez visited Dr. James Andrews this week to take another look at his shoulder, a decision that was agreed upon mutually by the team doctors and the quarterback. In an interview with NFL Network before the Jets 13-10 loss to the Patriots Thursday, Sanchez said he was not planning on having surgery anytime soon, but instead wanted to continue to rehabilitate with his sights set on playing again this year. Before the game at Gillette Stadium, Sanchez threw passes left-handed while warming up with the rest of the team. "Hes doing a great job in rehab," Ryan said, "and our doctors and our trainers are pleased." Sanchez appeared to have an edge in the tightly contested quarterback competition after rookie Geno Smith struggled with three interceptions in the preseason game against the Giants. But, Ryan decided to play Sanchez in the fourth quarter of that game, a call for which the coach has taken a lot of criticism since it was in garbage time when Sanchez took a crunching hit from Marvin Austin. In the interview with NFL Network, Sanchez said he was disappointed by the injury because he felt he undoubtedly beat out Smith for the starting job. Ryan, however, has never declared a winner in the competition. "As a competitor, I guess thats what you expect," Ryan said. "You want your players to believe that. If you dont believe in yourself, nobody else will. I certainly would expect that from any competitor, to think that theyre winning the job. "His comments about that he clearly thinks he won the competition or whatever, thats his opinion." ---- NOTES: Ryan had no update on DL Muhammad Wilkerson, who injured his right ankle late in the game. The Jets are hoping its not a high ankle sprain. Wilkerson was seen leaving the locker room with heavy ice packs on his ankle. ... After benching CB Dee Milliner, the teams top draft pick, Ryan would not commit to starting him against Buffalo next Sunday. "I dont know," Ryan said. "Well see." Milliner was replaced by Kyle Wilson and Darrin Walls against the Patriots. "At that time, I just thought it was best that, hey, you know what, sit him down, let him watch it and well go with more experience out there," Ryan said. ... Ryan hopes to have WR Jeremy Kerley back against the Bills after he missed the game Thursday night with a concussion. Nike Free RN 2017 . Cleary also had two assists and Patrick Eaves added two goals for the Red Wings, who also ousted Phoenix in seven games during the first round of the 2010 postseason. Todd Bertuzzi had a goal and an assist for Detroit, which got a goal apiece from Tomas Holmstrom and Niklas Kronwall and suffered no shortage of offense despite the absences of Henrik Zetterberg and Johan Franzen. http://www.babuh.com/ . To be fair, the celebrations are already anything but tame. Nerf ball tricks shots are just the tip of the iceberg for a group that has performed in zero gravity, faced pro-skateboarder Rob Dyrdek and an assembled team on the MTV series "Fantasy Factory", and even hit a basketball trick shot from a passing blimp.New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - The NFL will not issue any discipline to five St. Louis Rams players who displayed a show of support to the protesters in nearby Ferguson, Missouri prior to Sundays game against the Oakland Raiders. As the Rams offense was introduced, wide receivers Tavon Austin, Stedman Bailey, Kenny Britt and Chris Givens and tight end Jared Cook all stood together and raised their arms to pay homage to those who protested a recent grand jury decision not to indict Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson for fatally shooting African-American teenager Michael Brown in August. The verdict triggered a wave of riots and looting in the St. Louis suburb. The St. Louis Police Officers Association condemned the players actions while calling upon the NFL to hand out some sort of punishment, but the league denied that request in a statement issued Monday. We respect and understand the concerns of all individuals who have expressed views on this tragic situation, NFL vice president of communications Brian McCarthy said in the statement. Rams head coach Jeff Fisher said after his teams 52-0 win over the Raiders that he was unaware of the players intentions to conduct the gesture, which drew the ire of SLPOA and prompted the organization to demand a public apology from the NFL. Nike Free RN Motion Flyknit. The St. Louis Police Officers Association is profoundly disappointed with the members of the St. Louis Rams football team who chose to ignore the mountains of evidence released from the St. Louis County Grand Jury this week and engage in a display that police officers around the nation found tasteless, offensive and inflammatory, the SLPOA stated. I know that there are those that will say that these players are simply exercising their First Amendment rights, said SLPOA business manager Jeff Roorda. Well, Ive got news for people who think that way -- cops have first amendment rights, too, and we plan to exercise ours. Id remind the NFL and their players that it is not the violent thugs burning down buildings that buy their advertisers products. Its cops and the good people of St. Louis and other NFL towns that do. Somebody needs to throw a flag on this play. If its not the NFL and the Rams, then itll be cops and their supporters.
